SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLIC (New SOVIET/RUSSIA)
The political body in control of a geographical region most commonly known as Russia.
This popularly elected totalitarian regime was brought about in the 21st Century by fifth generation post-Soviet Russian idealogues intent on returning their homeland to it's once Supernation status and was fueled by a populace tired of systemic corruption and an ineffective governmental system unable to react to the Eco-Crisis/Eco-Collapse of this same period.
Since it's rise to power the New Soviet has achieved great leaps forward in science and technology and expanded into space well beyond the capabilities of other nations with it's space arm GLAVCOSMOS.   Since 2229 and the Farside Incident it has slipped back into a protectionist isolationist phase avoiding external contact except in border/land claim disputes through Asia Minor and parts of Africa.
