Parliamentary Republic comprised of five former Canadian Provinces:

British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Yukon.   Formed February 6, 2067 under the direction of Alberta Premier Jericho Roth when the Federal Government of Canada refused to authorize military reaction to the Heartland Invasion in the first North American FOOD WAR.

During the Eco-Crisis WESTCAN was one of only three nation states to see a population rise while finding new ways to produce food for the starving nations of the world.

Since it's creation WESTCAN has moved to the forefront of the technological envelope and continues to draw the best and the brightest while leading the way towards a better tomorrow.

For these reasons it was WESTCAN which first proposed creation of the United Network Command Authority as a tool for both Government and Industry to work together in securing space opportunities and expanding beyond our planet and into the Sol System.   The first of these initiatives was the liberation of the SHORT BOW Corridor to the Asteroid Belt and the construction of the first permanent Lagrange Space Habitat.

POPULATION DURING ECO-CRISIS:   12,673,506

POPULATION (AS AT LATEST CENSUS):   15,129,977
