Perhaps the only region to benefit from the Eco-Crisis. While the foodbelt and more temperate climates moved north and the coastal waters grew warmer and frequently richer in catches the former independant nations of Iceland, Sweden, Norway and Finland rapidly responded to the changing environment and benefited greatly from their swift and united actions.
This economic union benefitted becoming the major food supplier to hungry nations in Europe and Russia surprising many aggressive nations by their ability to defend their catches.
At the same time massive forestation programs in Greenland created huge tracks of Pine which led to colonization and industry. Rapid successes with fast returns which the former Canadian Province of Nunavuut requested to learn. The previously hidden riches of Nunavuut led to the Province petitioning permanent membership in the Union which was granted.
After half a century however the effects of the Eco-Crisis began to wane shifting these Nations back to pre-crisis norms and returning them to familar climatology. Fortunately most of the infrastructure was laid down during this respite and the partnership remains beneficial to all involved.
