A popular line of Communications and Transpoder gear.   A Codex Navigator is a minor Artificial Intelligence system capable of guiding smaller vehicles to destination automatically and without passenger interaction.   In Military circles CODEX is a short-hand term used in reference to a small tracking unit usually outside on the clothes of (though occassionally inserted into) Military personnel which helps locate an individual in an emergency.

CODY RIFLES

The first line of easily portable coil induction weapons.   The first proto-type Rifle sized device was successfully fired on January 31st, 2165 by the Cody Rifle division of Magellan Shipyards.   The unit went into mass-production later that year on contract to the Westcan Constabulary.  It entered Military service with the WestCan Armed Forces in 2173 following the last of seventeen field tests, but was eventually replaced by the higher quality Marwayne built systems five years later.

COMBAT ENGAGEMENT CRAFT

Brochure term used by ANEX Astralnautics for their HORNET line of Short Range Fighter craft.  The term is used to emphasize the similarity between the Hornets and past-conflict Helicopters in comparison to other Fighters.

COMBAT HELMET

An energy dampening helmet used by Astrals Troopers (Ground Ops) which has weapon deflection properties, reinforced structure, environmental assist augmentation, mission recording capabilities but near zero remote activation.

COMBAT RING

Either external add-on or internally stored ring of pressurized modules which can ring a medium sized craft (IE: The RIGEL Aerospace LADIS 3) so that other, smaller craft may dock and be secured to the vehicle in flight.   When designated COMBAT then the ring is well shielded with numerous redundancies and safeties for use during combat situations.

Familiar term used by members of the Military in reference to the contract binding all Military personnel.   Among other things the Compact ensures each member of Ground Ops a base minimum of supplies and equipment with the option to upgrade at their own expense from an approved list of materials.   Finn has taken advantage of this to upgrade his Multi-Action Rifle from the Marwayne 350 to the more versatile Marwayne 500.

CROSS-COVER FORMATION

A much practiced military exercise that allow elements of a unit to advance while under the protection of other elements which then advance once the forward units have secured the forward position.   In this method no element is moving through an area that is not covered by other elements of that same unit.
