Welcome to the Future!

That's always been the approach with SPACE ODDITY, a series based on the very simple premise that the future of this planet will be just like the present only moreso.

In producing Space Oddity we always tried to keep an eye on where things are actually going and as many of you know it wasn't easy.   Our dedication to a scientific grounding drew a lot of earlier scepticism within the community.

But we knew that people were ready for a Science Fiction series that paid attention to details and didn't slip into the realm of the unplausible just because it's writers needed a mind-blowing way out of a problem.

We knew that just being in space was pretty mind blowing and the drama would come from the situation, the characters and the realistic task of pushing the limits of exploration.

If you've been with us from the beginning then you've seen Earth grow from a very isolated island, suspecting it might be alone, to the core of a fragile galactic union and you've seen this through the eyes of our main character Robert MacManus.

If you're new to us feel free to explore this part of the site.   You might start with the SPACE ODDITY PITCH, the document that first sold the series, or read the BOOK SUMMARY, a page that provides an overall look at the series so far and is a great primer to the EPISODE GUIDE, or check out our TECHNICAL MANUAL presenting a portal to the year 2260.

Then check out our SPECIAL FEATURES including the TIMELINE4TOMORROW section, our detailed CHARACTER LIST as well as some behind-the-scenes and production articles.

Finally check out our METRIC TIME page where the Space Oddity vision of the future is already at work (JAVA SCRIPT MUST BE ENABLED FOR THE ONSCREEN DISPLAY TO WORK).

Like the Universe there's a lot to explore and you're welcome to start from here...
