Lust was not new to Declan but it was not familiar either. He'd long since buried such thoughts and supplanted them with other passions, scripture sure but hockey mostly.
He sat with a being from what to him must be Heaven. He sat beside a perfect being who claimed to be part of God, but not God, and God to some, but not God to Aries at least. He sat beside Her and instead of those thoughts he found himself admiring her form and felt the hunger of youthful desire swell in him.
And even as he did, he thought of shame, but shame would not well up even though he knew it should. Shame was being beaten down like kelp in a vicious tide. He sat there watching her as she kneeled on the border sofa, hips swaying her perfect ass back and forth, while she peered intently down at the people below and out at the city beyond.
So much has changed. was the first thing She'd said in over an hour.
Declan sat normally, a cushion down the border sofa from Her and craned to see her face from his position, trying to avoid staring at her rump. Suddenly she turned around in place and sat, with her legs up on the sofa, stretching her perfect toes out toward him. She faced him and spoke.
You never married.
Startled he thought a moment, then shook his head negative.
You never consummated.
A shrug. It was not my calling.
Declan, it was never the plan for you to refrain. In the past it has proven very dangerous for the flock when the leader contains such desire. It is better for you to find an outlet, a match.
It has proven dangerous for the flock even then.
There is always that. She sat there, saddened by a thought, then, One day I will understand that as well. But you.
It'll happen when it is meant to happen.
She accepted this and nodded yet did not take her eyes off of him. She leaned forward, shifting so she could reach him and began to run her fingers across his face, across his fading hair. He felt himself grow uncomfortable at this and worse still he felt himself stirring. He tried to think of Hockey and then she began to laugh as She pulled away.
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable.
You're just
discovering new sensations. Isn't that what you said?
No, but you are correct. However that doesn't forgive me tormenting you. Others are game enough for those ventures, your ache comes from a different place, a truer place.
He looked at her, unsure of what that was supposed to mean. There was a knock at the door, a welcome relief considering the last few moments and Declan rushed to rise and move to the door while calling out.
Come. Come in. Please.
The door opened and Daniel entered on his mobile gravs. He stood there opposite Declan until he found a large chair facing the border sofa, which he moved toward and sat at.
Is there a problem? Declan asked.
No, we're just taking a break and I came up here to see if you two were screwing yet.
Declan's jaw dropped. He looked back at the visitor as if to apologize for all of humanity.
I'm just kidding. Daniel said, specifically to Declan, will you relax, she didn't take offense.
Declan turned to Her. She was still, as before, and smiling.
Declan. There is always context.
But.. he stammered.
It is not lost on me. The effect I have on you people, the effect anyone nude would have. Daniel is refreshing in his forwardness.
It's just
Hard for you. I know. But as I said you seek something different than these people.
And you can fix everything? Daniel added, Even my problems?
I can help you find the way to deal with them, yes.
Aries thinks you a charlatan. Declan shot him a hard stare for this comment. Their visitor didn't even blink.
Aries, has high expectations and is his own judge. It doesn't work that way.
Then how does it work? Daniel was being too cheeky as far as Declan was concerned but all the glances in the world weren't stopping him.
What Declan seeks is in the Bible, for him to find.
At this Declan shot her a glance, of disbelief. That's pretty simplistic, don't you think?
Absolutely not. She replied.
Declan turned to her now, How can you say that?
Because it is the truth.
It's first week seminary that's what it is.
Declan. I tell you every answer to every question is in the Lord's book because it is. It however is not spelled out. One must read and understand the word and then the context of the word and then grow in the word to understanding.
Declan fell back against the border sofa.
You doubt this. She continued to speak softly but surprised both of them by her next word. Daniel.
Yes? He responded, like a schoolboy concerned he was about to be asked a really tough question he hadn't had time to study or understand.
If I took you from this room and we went to a farm somewhere, a place where the inhabitants could barely understand you, could you explain Fluid Engineering to them?
Not to a level they could use it, not easily.
But to a level where they could grasp the basic context, yeah?
Well, I'd have to over simplify things, I'd probably have to use metaphor and such.
But you could explain it?
I suppose.
Yet they could do nothing with that knowledge.
Well. I mean there are times in history where someone hears the basis of a theory and then because they understand it to be possible they're able to recreate the theory.
Because they know the expected results.
Yeah.
T.M. times E.P cubed equals I.R.
Daniel shook his head at that. That's a layman's equation.
A simplified version of the more complex Fluid formula.
The Fluid formula has never been finished. He countered dismissively.
Yet you're closer now than ever before.
We're always closer, that's the nature of science.
Declan interrupted, completely confused by this sudden math seminar. I'm sorry, what are you talking about?
The Visitor turned to him and began to speak. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Declan looked at Daniel, You guys are working on a formula for creation?
No. Daniel shook his head at the oversimplification. That formula, T.M. is total mass, E.P. is exponential pressure and they cube it to give you the idea it's coming from all sides. The idea is that exponential pressure applied to the total mass of the universe from all angles would result in an Infinite Release or I.R. It's make believe.
Why?
Because Pressure has to come from an outside force. You can't have something outside the total mass of the universe putting pressure on it because by its definition total mass would include everything.
In the beginning the One Force of the continuum separated the Ether Plain from the True Mass creating two distinct realms.
And the true mass was without form, and spread wide; cold and darkness was upon the whole of it and it was without life. The One Force of the continuum drew the true mass together, compressing it with the growing pressure of the Ether Realm pushing the true mass toward critical mass.
And at the moment of critical mass the One Force began the release of energy which was at first blinding and infinite in speed as it spread the true mass across the void in ways that brought the building blocks of a new life to the universe.
Daniel and Declan both sat there stunned by what they'd heard and for the first time both understand as one and saw the chasm between science and religion shrink.
Once you understand the word and then the context of the word then you can grow in the word to understanding the rest of it.
