MISSISSAUGA'S MAYORAL DOG-RACE
RadioTMI - September 21, 2014

Having reviewed all the candidates in the Mississauga Mayoral race (voting takes place October 27), and the independent write ups about them, I'll provide the following distilled intel:

The complete list of who is running is here:
http://www.mississaugavotes.ca/infoforvoters/whosrunning?office=Mayor&orderby=CandidateName

The front runners are both political insiders who intend to continue Hazel's legacy of not taxing enough, not planning enough and not thinking ahead. Of course, even Hazel knows that without land to sell for new development that boat has sailed which is why she's getting of dodge before the bill arrives (ie: DEBT).

They are:

BONNIE CROMBIE, former Liberal MP, city counsellor, with a long list of endorsements from every politico here to Ottawa. She's the choice for a "Whiter Mississauga"

And STEVE MAHONEY, who looks like a mob informant and plans on holding the line on Property Taxes. If wishes were horses this guy would be hip deep in manure which is probably where he hides most of the bodies.

But after wading through all this clutter I've got to say that ANDREW SEITZ is getting my vote. He's the only candidate who gets that Hazel's never had a plan and we're paying for it now, and he's got a vision to forge a future where we think before spending - considering the rail bridge in Port Credit was built, dismantled, rebuilt, re-dismantled and then re-re-built 3 times in two years that would be refreshingly intelligent for the city.

He asks the previously unspoken question "Why did Vaughn, a city one third the size of Mississauga, get a subway connection to the TTC while we're still using busses?" Best of all, his website is just one, carefully drafted page laying it all out. No BS, just straight talk and common sense.

The media would have you believe its a two-horse race, but we don't need either political animal in that seat, we need a maverick who isn't going to pretend the past can continue and has already begun thinking ahead. We need ANDREW SEITZ.
