ROB FORD: MORE THAN SMOKED HAM
RadioTMI - November 6, 2013
A month ago a Toronto city employee was photographed sleeping at his desk. Without knowing any facts Toronto's Mayor Rob Ford called for that employee, AND his supervisor, to be immediately fired! There was disciplinary action taken but we don't know what that was (as is proper).
I wonder what Ford would've demanded if video of a city employee smoking crack had surfaced? No doubt, he would've called for immediate dismissal, police charges, and jail time even if that employee was off-duty at the time the video was taken.
Of course, the Mayor of the 4th largest city in North America is not a 9-5 job, so there isn't any off-time for him. He's got a problem, whether its chronic lying, intense self-delusion, alcoholism or crack addiction, he needs to step away, seek treatment, and get his house in order.
But most of all, he and his brother need to stop pointing fingers! I think we can all forgive addiction if treatment is sought, but blatant, cynical, hypocrisy (or as I call it: Modern Conservatism) is a whole other matter.
