1. I don't vote because all the parties are the same.
2. I want change but don't see an option.
3. My vote doesn't count.
A lot of people feel this way, but a few years ago something wonderful happened. Canadians started voting in MINORITY GOVERNMENTS.
FACT IS a vote for the local candidate of a major party is nothing more than a vote for the leader.
ALL THE MAJOR PARTIES have top-down, leader driven agendas and their individual MPs are nearly powerless.
But because we live in an era of Minority Governments it's also true that Canadians voters now have an option that hasn't been meaningful for quite some time, they can send an INDEPENDENT MP to Ottawa and get better representation!
Unlike Candidates from the main Parties AN INDEPENDENT MP represents ONLY THEIR VOTERS - NOT PARTY AGENDAS!
THE THREE MAIN PARTIES are locked into dogmatic thinking where decisions and policy are made by party hacks on the determination of how best to swing voters and remain in power.
HARPER'S CONSERVATIVES have a not-so-secret agenda to Americanize this country through an elected senate and other so-called reforms but none of the MPs and most of their Ministers in "Canada's New Government" aren't allowed to speak without first getting their text approved by the Prime Minister's Office. How can any of them HONESTLY say they can represent their constituents with that muzzle?
LAYTON'S NDP have hopped into so many beds that even their own party doesn't know what they really stand for anymore. How can anyone have faith in a party that would bring down Paul Martin's Liberals only to prop up Stephen Harper?
Meanwhile the LIBERAL PARTY limps along, an old war horse that's been past the post far too often and needs to be put out to pasture.
Q: But how can the average Canadian effect change?
A: Simple. Stop complaining that the main parties are all
alike and vote for an Independent!
The last two elections have resulted in Minority Governments, both times the INDEPENDENT Members of the House of Commons have held uprecedented sway and been given voices normally reserved only for major parties, AND THEY'VE HAD THIS WITHOUT TOWING A PARTY LINE!
The more Independents that get elected to the House of Commons the more power shifts to the voter and the stronger the message will be to the main parties that they must change or go by the wayside!
Electing even FIVE Independent MPs would clearly demonstrate that Canadians have had enough of the lies, over-blown Election promises, and Nation destroying Polarization.
Independent MPs work only for the people who elected them, not the leaders of morally bankrupt parties.
It's time to bring back PEACE, ORDER and GOOD GOVERNMENT, but the first step is returning the power to the people who elect our Members of Parliament and that won't happen until MORE INDEPENDENT MEMBERS REPRESENTING THE VOICE OF THEIR RIDINGS ARE SENT TO OTTAWA!
